wow, packed with information. i agree that sometimes its uncomfortable to bring up topics that have a wide range of literature and controversy. i agree its good to educated on all sides of the topic before making a decision. i agree that judging others for their lack of interest in education is always controversial. i appreciate you willingness to share! i like when people share both sides of an issue without pegging on or the other as being right. its tricky to do, but more people will feel the freedom of choice than being forced to comply. loves & hugs!!

Manders, nice pointing out the 24 hour fast being cleansing! I agree. Though, not as a colon cleanse. We get plaque build up on the inside of our colon that can't be removed with simple fasting. But the good news is that there are super gentle, natural ways to remove it that have no harmful side effects at all. I have also heard of some really harsh, crazy cleanses out there. You have to be careful. I also second the "take everything you learn with a grain of salt" and research things YOURSELF. Don't just do things based on what someone else tells you to. We all were given amazing bodies and brilliant minds and we should use them to learn and ultimately make decisions based on what feels right to us.

Thanks for sharing! Although, I must say it's not all so black and white. I read The China Study, did my research on the crazy organic/raw food/vegan diet, and it's not for everyone. And actually, the monthly act of fasting for 24 hours common in our faith is a natural colon cleanse without harsh stimulants and possible long-term effects. My take, it's all great stuff, but take it with a grain of salt, everything in moderation, and consult a doctor before trying anything major! PS - I LOVE your birthing pictures! I WISH I could do a home birth, actually. I have tried to justify it, but both of my babies have had to go straight to the NICU, so it's probably not a reality for me, but it just looks so much more beautiful and enjoyable than a hospital birth!
