He’s here!!! On the morning of Friday, September 26th we welcomed our beautiful baby boy into this world and named him Sam. Samuel Adam to be exact. Dad calls him Sammy and mom calls him baby boy, sweetheart, pumpkin, luv, blue-eyes, little one, sweetness, and all sorts of other angelic titles that would make any non-mom out there want to puke. 
We are head over heels in love.
Weighing in at 8 lbs 7 oz, mom is relieved that he decided to come a week early. He is perfect. Absolutely perfect. From his tiny little toes to his white blond hair. He came out perfectly plump and pink all over.
Sammy was born at home, in a pool filled with warm water. The calm little guy never even cried except for a couple tiny squawks when they took him out of mom’s arms to weigh him. When he was born, the midwives gently passed him, under the water still, to Jared and I. As I reached down to pull him out of the warm water, my heart stopped. Our beautiful little boy had his eyes open and was just peacefully looking up at me as if to say, “Hi mama. I’m here now.” Tears filled my eyes as I scooped our precious new baby out of the water and held him close. I haven’t stopped kissing him since. We are absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude and love. Words simply cannot describe.

Welcome Samuel Adam!! He’s absolutely beautiful!! Congratulations to mom and dad!!! He was born just one day after Evan! What a wonderful video that Jared put together and your friend Tamra did a fabulous job taking pictures.

Well, you did it!! You brought your dad to tears. I/we are so very proud of both of you. What a bundle of joy for you. He looks perfect. Jared I see a bit of you in him! Wrap him and love him and protect him and all those other wonderful meaningful things till we can get out to see him. Keep the blog going. It was simply beautiful!

Pretty video! I am so happy you are all healthy and well. My mom think you look like my daughter, Amber. I think she looks more like you than she look slike me! How did that happen?

Congratulations! What a beautiful video! I bawled through the whole thing! Watching the expressions of pain, joy, anticipation and anxiety on your face reminded me of my last two labors. I didn’t have a water birth but I did go through it with no drugs, all natural as they say…. and seeing your face brought back all the emotions of it all!! Such an amazingly beautiful experience to have a baby and couldn’t be more excited and happy for all of you!! Welcome little Sammy! He’s such a cutie! Loves!!

Home births are the wave of the future, I think. We had ours almost the same time you did, and it was very similar – except this is #8 for us. It never, ever gets old.

Wow! Where do I start? Your baby is beautiful! I love love love the slide show from the birth, the photos so accurately catch the feeling swings and the relief and joy of birth and Jared what a great supportive husband! Thanks for sharing with me. And your whole blog is great! I’ve never seen one like it, so awesome! A sincere Congratulations on your new addition!
He is beautiful! You need to post more! Great job doing a water birth! I had a c-section with my first, so now I only feel safe having a baby in a hospital, but I will only use midwives now and I am fully jealous of people who can birth elsewhere.
